Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has immediate openings for a litigation paralegal and docketing clerk to work in its fast paced and welcoming Raleigh office.

Litigation Paralegal (3+ years)

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience. This position requires excellent computer and document organization skills, a working knowledge/experience with Word, Outlook and a familiarity with iManage or other document management systems.  iTimekeep and/or other timekeeping software proficiency is preferred and experience with e-discovery is a plus. This is a full time position, which may have flexible options for a hybrid schedule.

Candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, pay high attention to detail, be self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and be able to prioritize work for multiple attorneys.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format.
  • Prepare medical record chronologies.
  • Analysis and review of case documents in order to assist in deposition and trial preparation.
  • Contact clients, witnesses, experts, third parties, and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter.
  • Assist attorneys in research, drafting pleadings, subpoenas for records, disclosures, interrogatories, discovery requests, motions while under supervision.
  • Work closely with legal assistants to schedule and calendar for attorney depositions and activities related to depositions (i.e. court reporter, witnesses, opposing counsel).
  • Track all requests made for documents and records, follow up on status of requests, and verify receipt of documents and records.
  • Record all billable and non-billable time spent on case files and client matters.
  • Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct.

A Paralegal certificate or degree is required.

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000

Docketing Clerk (2-3 years)

The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of experience. Responsibilities include receipt and digital filing of service documents, court filings, and other pertinent case documents; management and organization of digital case files; maintaining the office’s docket and calendar system; obtaining filing information from court clerks/online dockets; assisting legal secretaries with preparing documents for filing with various courts; and preparing/distributing master calendar updates to attorneys and legal staff.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years recent experience with a civil litigation firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in federal and state court procedures, including calendaring/docketing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, and CompuLaw, or comparable docketing and case management software.
  • File & Serve experience.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with legal correspondence is a plus!
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of local jurisdictional and federal court rules and procedures.
  • A team approach to work and ability to juggle multiple projects and respond quickly to changing priorities are essential as this position supports multiple practice groups.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
