Here are a few areas where you may want to start your career with us.
Finance & Accounting
The Finance and Accounting Departments provide internal financial support for all offices firm-wide and are responsible for the production of the external financial statements. Areas of expertise include billing, collections, treasury, payroll, trust, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting and analysis. Roles vary from entry level to manager level and moving between the disciplines is encouraged. The 50 state initiative has also increased the need for expertise in state level compliance and taxation.
Human Resources & Operations
The Human Resources Department is responsible for maintaining a high degree of employee relations within the firm. This includes staffing, performance management, compensation, health and safety, and firm protocol and legal compliance. The Department provides support and services to approximately 2,000 staff and attorneys nationwide.
Information Technology
The Information Technology Department manages technologies that empower our attorneys and staff to collaboratively work and communicate with our clients and each other effectively. Our goals are to position technology as a contributing component in delivering the highest quality legal services and work product while doing so in an efficient, cost-effective manner. Our objectives also include the development of legal and administrative skill sets to incorporate and embed legal practice technologists within each practice team and the firm’s administrative departments.
Technology can offer strategic benefits in supporting our clients, enhancing our operations, improving efficiency and helping to manage time. We use proven software solutions that can scale to service a variety of client needs. Technology currently deployed at the firm include comprehensive case management databases, advanced email functionality, sophisticated document management systems, client document ESI review databases, imaging, transcript management, electronic billing capabilities and secure internet/extranet access and web sharing tools for a broad level of collaboration.
Legal Support
The firm’s Legal Support work directly with attorneys in a fast paced team environment supporting a range of complex practice areas across the U.S. and beyond. We offer roles for experienced legal professionals and entry-level positions with on the job training for those who are interested in a career in the legal industry. There are remote flexible opportunities for paralegals, secretaries, case assistants, and administrative assistants.
Marketing
The Marketing Department works with attorneys firm-wide in their marketing and business development efforts to expand and strengthen client relationships and support brand recognition. Members of the marketing team are cross-trained to support related projects and activities for the firm's national practice groups and offices. Specific areas of focus include support for pitches and RFPs, research, market visibility and recognition efforts, communications, events and sponsorships, general business development activities, and more.
Recruiting
The National Recruiting team guides lateral partner candidates throughout introductions and the onboarding process, working closely with the firm’s leadership and Firm Administration. Recruiting is responsible for safeguarding sensitive discussions on a need to know level with the utmost confidentiality and discretion. Recruiting staff are service oriented and often feature blended backgrounds in legal support, legal recruiting, and human resources.
Risk Management
The Risk Management Department is responsible for building and monitoring the Firm’s risk management framework. This includes a primary focus on identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest, but also includes a variety of other compliance and risk mitigation responsibilities. Members of the Risk team are generally cross trained, but various positions have concentrations in conflict analysis (new business and new hires), database maintenance, information security, and client/matter intake.
