Los Angeles Employment partner Phillip Maltin will speak on Evidence at Trial during the Los Angeles County Bar Association's 2012 Labor and Employment Law Section Annual Meeting and Retreat. The presentation, scheduled for Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., compares character evidence (of a plaintiff-employee's misconduct at another job) and so-called "me-too" evidence (of a defendant-business's acts of harassment and discrimination against someone else, not the plaintiff). Phil will discuss why, in most circumstances, applying the Evidence Code correctly leads to results that seemingly disfavor businesses, and the counter-measures a business can take to protect itself at trial.
The two-day retreat will take place May 5-6, 2012 at the Mandalay Beach-Hotel and Resort in Oxnard, California. For additional information, or to register for the program, please click here.
