San Francisco and Portland office Partner Tom Packer conducted a half-day workshop at the 14th annual Food Safety Summit in Washington D.C. on April 17, 2012. For four consecutive years, Mr. Packer has served in leadership roles for the Food Safety Summit as a member of the Executive Educational Advisory Committee. The Food Safety Summit is the largest and most established conference and exposition in North America on food safety, quality assurance and food security.
Mr. Packer led a group of other leading food industry lawyers in a panel discussion on the topic of "How to Protect Your Company with an Effective Food Liability Program." The panel provided best practices for creating a successful food liability program, preventing company liability through risk assessment and resolving claims and lawsuits.
