Brandon Saxon, senior counsel in the San Diego office of Gordon & Rees, presented a Lorman Education Services’ seminar titled “California Wage and Hour Law Essentials.” Human resources professionals, payroll managers and in-house attorneys attended the Feb. 13 event.
The seminar provided an overview of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and focused on various California employment regulations. Topics included meal and rest periods, overtime, exempt/non-exempt employees, computing hours work, record-keeping and documentation requirements, and enforcement by the Department of Labor and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement in California.
In his practice, Mr. Saxon focuses on employment matters including the defense of companies and employers, and administrative, state and federal actions.
