On Nov. 1, Gordon & Rees Orange County partner Carol P. Schaner will participate in a panel discussion at Morgan Stanley’s Ask the Experts Breakfast Meeting from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Center Club in Costa Mesa.
The presentation, titled “Moving Your Organization From Good to Great: Governance, Financials and Investments,” will address board governance issues, debt management best practices, fundraising strategies, and endowment investment goals for the nonprofit sector. Schaner will be joined on the panel by Morgan Stanley financial advisor Darya Allen and CBIZ MHM managing director Jennifer Farr.
Schaner is a partner in Gordon & Rees’s Tax, Wealth Management & Probate Practice Group, where she focuses on taxation (planning and controversy), business planning, charitable giving, representation of nonprofit tax-exempt organizations, and estate planning. She is certified in taxation law by the California Board of Legal Specialization, and is a certified public accountant.
Schaner has been appointed to numerous leadership positions, including serving as a member of the California Board of Legal Specialization and as chair of the board’s Taxation Law Advisory Commission. She is an adjunct faculty member at Chapman University School of Law; The Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice, Inc. at Michigan State University; and The Heritage Institute.
