On Sept. 19, Gordon & Rees Las Vegas partner Robert Schumacher will participate in a panel discussion from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the 19th Annual West Region Construction Defect and Insurance Coverage Conference. The presentation, titled “What’s NOT Working in the Western Region CD Arena,” will address right-to-repair statutes, the mediation process, insurance issues including challenges presented by AI’s and OCIP’s, and arbitration versus judicial reference.
The three-day conference will be held Sept. 18-20 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, and will provide attorneys, carriers and builders with a series of panel discussions and presentations addressing construction defect issues and upcoming regulations.
Schumacher is co-managing partner of Gordon & Rees’s Las Vegas office, and a member of the Construction Practice Group. With more than 20 years of experience in construction, he frequently represents contractors and design professionals in prosecuting monies owed, delay/impact, inefficiency claims, and defending claims for alleged errors and omissions and defective work. His experience also includes dealing with OCIP and CCIP related issues. Schumacher is AV Rated and has received numerous recognitions, including Superlawyers, AM Best’s Recommended Insurance Attorney and Nevada Business Magazine’s Legal Elite Top 100 Attorneys. In addition, he was nominated by his peers as a colleague of the Nevada Law Foundation, an organization that provides legal services to disadvantaged Nevadans.
