On Nov. 7, Gordon & Rees Phoenix partner Deanna R. Rader and of counsel Merton E. Marks will present at the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys 2014 Fall Meeting at the Palomar Hotel in Phoenix.
In a 10:15 a.m.-11 a.m. session titled “Ten Hazards on the Golf Course,” Marks will discuss potential liability for resorts, hotels and golf clubs related to the operation of golf courses. From 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Rader will participate as a panelist in the “Labor Law Panel Session,” which will address emerging labor law trends related to the hospitality industry.
Rader handles matters including risk assessment, company investigations, discrimination, employment contracts, sexual harassment, disability, retaliation, misappropriation of trade secrets, enforcement and defense of post-employment restrictive covenants, policy development, employee training, reductions in force, wage-and-hour disputes, and compliance issues. She is an experienced litigator, representing and defending employers in state and federal court.
Marks represents the hospitality industry and its insurers and reinsurers in litigation arising out of hotel, resort and golf course operation. He is a former columnist for a national golf magazine, a member of the U.S. Golf Association, and a member of the Gordon & Rees Hospitality Practice Group.
