On November 5, Gordon & Rees partner, Gordon Endow, will present on a panel at the 2015 National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Conference in New Orleans.
Endow organized and will moderate the panel on day one of the 3-day NAPABA conference. The panel is entitled, “Rising to the Challenge: How to Make International Social Entrepreneurship Part of Your Practice.”
The panel will discuss how social entrepreneurs use innovation to create sustainable and scalable development solutions in education, health, and business around the world, including how they use technology in particular to leapfrog over old-school development roadblocks to effect societal change through e-education, micro-finance, telemedicine, e-commerce and e-banking. The panel will also discuss the evolution of non-profits (v. 2.0), outline new forms of for-profit companies that embed a social mission into their DNA, and suggest ways lawyers can incorporate social entrepreneurship into their practices.
Endow is a partner in Gordon & Rees’s San Francisco office and in the firm’s Business Transactions, Privacy and Data Security, and Intellectual Property Practice Groups. He represents startups and established SMBEs in formation, funding, operations, contract and licensing, and M&A matters, acting essentially as their outside general counsel.
