Gordon & Rees New Jersey associate, Scott Heck, will present a discussion before the Monmouth County Bar Association as part of their annual Labor and Employment Law Seminar. The presentation will cover changes in 2015 pertaining to the Law Against Discrimination (“LAD”) and new defenses open to employers in harassment claims. Specifically, the presentation will include how the previously undefined term “supervisor” is now being interpreted by the New Jersey courts as well as the impact of an employer’s anti-harassment policy on an employee’s negligence, recklessness and vicarious liability claims premised on the LAD. The presentation will be followed by the Monmouth County Judiciary’s introduction of their law clerks for the 2015-2016 term.
The Monmouth Bar Association (MBA) celebrated its 100th Anniversary on January 8, 2008. Heck’s presentation, entitled “The Impact of An Anti-Harassment Policy for the Newly Defined Supervisor,” will take place at the Southgate Manor at 4:00p.m. EST on October 15, 2015. The program is eligible for 2.0 MCLE credits.
