At the request of the EEOC, Gordon & Rees New York office managing partner, Mercedes Colwin, will speak at the 2015 National Conference on Equal Employment Opportunity Law presented by the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law’s Equal Employment Opportunity Committee. The conference will be held April 15-18.
Colwin will speak at the presentation titled “New Americans & The Changing Face of Discrimination." The panel will address topics such as the demographic shift in workplaces, current legal issues around “English only” rules, segregation towards minority employees, and the EEOC’s role against discrimination. Colwin will present alongside the Honorable Constance Barker, Commissioner of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Laboni Hoq of Asian-Americans Advancing Justice, and Rebecca Smith of the National Employment Law Project.
