Gordon & Rees San Francisco partner Marie Trimble Holvick will present at the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada’s Employment Law Update Seminar "Do The Math: Calculating Exposure and Damages in Wage and Hour Cases" on Thursday, January 26 at Marines' Memorial Club in San Francisco. The seminar is from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and is followed by a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m.
Holvick will participate in a three-person panel discussion on the topic “Calculating Exposure and Damages in Wage and Hour Cases." Holvick, along with Nicholas Briscoe of Briscoe Economics Group, Inc. and Matthew C. Helland of Nichols Kaster, PLLP, will discuss Labor Code calculations for determining exposure and potential damages in wage-and-hour cases. The panel will cover the various damages and stacking penalties available to plaintiffs in wage-and-hour cases, and how to properly calculate these of damages. The panel will also discuss settlement strategies for class action and PAGA cases.
Holvick’s experience includes handling employment matters involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, violations of the FMLA, the FEHA, and the ADA, and PAGA and class action wage-and-hour violations. She regularly provides advice and counseling, prepares employee handbooks, and conducts harassment and management training sessions. Her employment law work has involved clients from a wide range of industries, including restaurants, wineries, hotels, health care, and manufacturing.
