Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Construction Litigation Partner Lisa M. Cappelluti will be a featured panelist at the Association of Defense Counsel's (ADC) 59th Annual Meeting on December 6 in San Francisco. Cappelluti's panel will present "Which Parties Belong at the Party? Entity Issues in Construction Contracts and Disputes."
Cappelluti's vast experience assisting developer and general contractor clients in construction litigation and contract matters will add substantial insight into the panel discussion of entity issues in construction contracts and disputes. Collectively the panel will explore the various types of business entities involved in construction projects, liability issues in contexts such as successors entities, assignments, mergers and acquisitions, alter ego, etc.; and insurance coverage and procurement implications and the roles of defense counsel, contractors and brokers. Joining Cappelluti as panelists are Marianne Boykin of Liberty Mutual Insurance, Eric Hoffner of H&H Professional Insurance Associates and Steven E McDonald of Bledsoe, Diestel, Treppa & Crane.

Cappelluti is a partner in the San Francisco office and she represents clients in pre-litigation disputes and construction litigation involving defect issues, construction site injuries, environmental issues, mold claims, contract and delay claims impacting both residential and commercial construction projects. Cappelluti's trial successes include obtaining a defense verdict on two separate construction trials as well as favorable trial verdicts in construction site injury and construction defect trials. In addition, Cappelluti has been instrumental in assisting clients in forming corporations, preparing residential development documents for associated real estates transactions, and preparing contracts for developer and construction clients. She also has advised her clients on the procurement and administration of WRAP/OCIP insurance policies. She frequently lectures to members of different contractor groups on construction issues, contract disputes and risk allocation issues facing the construction industry. She also has published several articles for the construction industry.
