On Friday, October 26, Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Managing Partner of the Philadelphia office William Shelley will join a four-person panel in a presentation titled, "How Will the ALI's New Restatement of the Law, Liability Insurance Shape the Future of Coverage Disputes?" at the Fifth Annual American College of Coverage Law Symposium. Serving on the panel along with Shelley are moderator Michael Aylward of Morrison Mahoney LLP and panelists John Buchanan, III of Covington & Burling LLP, Harold Kim of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Lorelie Masters of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP.
The presentation focuses the American Law Institute (ALI) approving the Restatement of Law, Liability Insurance on May 22, 2018, after eight years of work. This was the first Restatement devoted specifically to a single industry. The presenting panelist are all ALI members and were active in the development and the debate concerning this Restatement. They will discuss its most important and controversial provisions and forecast its implications for shaping the future of insurance coverage litigation.
