Courtney Williams Joins Gordon & Rees as an Attorney in the Nashville Office

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Courtney C. Williams as senior counsel in the firm’s Nashville, Tennessee office. Williams is a member of the firm’s Employment and Commercial Litigation practice groups. She was previously with Littler Mendelson in their Nashville office.

Williams both advises companies and litigates on their behalf on a wide range of employment and commercial litigation matters, including compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, discrimination and harassment, claims of wrongful termination, defamation, and breach of contract all over the country. She also works with clients to develop employee handbooks and advises on severance, non-compete and other employment-related agreements.

Her background includes advising employers nationwide on matters of compliance in rapidly expanding areas of the law including ADA issues arising from the legalization of marijuana use, compulsory state-mandated sexual harassment training, and leave laws including state-to-state requirements and variations.

Williams has experience representing employers in litigation related to unemployment insurance, reductions in force, wrongful discharge, discrimination and civil rights, and wage and hour compliance, as well as conducting labor and employment due diligence in the sale and acquisition of a corporation, sale of assets, and sale of shares.

She is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Williams earned her law degree from College of William & Mary, and her undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College.
