Gordon & Rees Formalizes Government Contracts Practice Group

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani is pleased to announce its new Government Contracts practice group.

Gordon & Rees’ government contracts team has considerable experience defending and enforcing the rights of our contractor clients in disputes against government entities and private businesses. In addition to litigating claims in state and federal courts, we routinely handle matters before administrative tribunals, such as the Government Accountability Office, the Small Business Administration, and the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals.

Led by Allen Estes and Meredith Thielbahr, the government contracts team is located throughout the United States, which allows Gordon & Rees to represent contractors, regardless of size, and in a wide variety of industries, including defense, information technology, construction, and aerospace, among others. The Government Contracts practice group includes Christine Barker, Allison Becker, Peggy Kozal, Margaret Boehmer, Patrick Burns, Joseph Meadows, Donna Tobar, John Leary, Jeremy Camacho, and Kendra Stark.

Meredith Thielbahr, the Group’s Co-Chair, is excited to offer this service area to existing and new clients of the firm. “Issues in government contracting so often overlap with our clients’ needs in a wide range of sectors. The nuances of federal compliance requirements and regulations are challenging; yet, the opportunities for companies to enter the government contracting arena are endless. Our attorneys stand ready to help capitalize on these business opportunities, mitigate risk, and help our clients navigate government awards.”

Areas of expertise includes contractual and administrative claims involving the government, as well as litigation matters involving the False Claims Act, the Defend Trade Secrets Act, surety bond claims, requests for equitable adjustment, sole source award challenges, CPARS challenges, OHA appeals, qui tam defenses, civil investigative demands, and bid protests at the local, state, and federal levels. We also have a deep bench of expertise in other areas impacting contractors, such as data security and protection, employment, intellectual property, antitrust, and transactional matters.
