Appellate Practice Group Co-Chair Gretchen Harris Sperry Quoted in Law360 Article on Illinois Cases to Watch

Chicago Partner Gretchen Harris Sperry was quoted in an article entitled "Illinois Cases To Watch In 2023: A Midyear Report," published by Law360.

This article explores four Illinois cases that attorneys will be watching in the second half of 2023. Ms. Sperry weighs in on a case in which the Illinois Supreme Court is interpreting the arbitrability of Survival Act claims under a contract that otherwise terminated upon a nursing home resident's death, which could "lead other nursing homes to change their contracts to ensure more certainty regarding the proper forum."

Ms. Sperry is Co-Chair of the Appellate practice group and a Partner in the firm's Chicago office. She has represented clients in numerous state and federal courts of review, including the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Sperry has developed particular expertise as embedded appellate counsel at trial, preparing pre-trial motions, monitoring trial proceedings, and developing appellate strategy in complex commercial litigation, high-exposure catastrophic injury cases, mass torts, constitutional litigation, and labor and employment matters.
