GRSM Ranked Among Top 10 Firms for Gender Equity in Law360’s 2024 Women in Law Report

Marking a six-spot leap from last year, Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has just been ranked No. 9 in Law360’s 2024 Women in Law Report in the 601+ attorney category. The Women in Law Report ranks the top 80 law firms in advancement in recruitment, promotion, and retention of female attorneys.

According to Law360, women represent 34.6 percent of non-equity partners and 48.9 percent of nonpartners at law firms. However, GRSM significantly surpasses these national averages, with women currently representing more than 46 percent of total attorneys, 38 percent of partners, and 52 percent of associates and senior counsel. “We have made significant strides in recruitment, retention, mentorship, and elevation of our talented female attorneys in the last two years. But there is always room for further growth, and we are up for the challenge. We will continue to work tirelessly on our efforts towards even greater success for our women attorneys and the betterment of the firm,” stated Debra Ellwood Meppen, National Chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative.

Equally impressively, earlier this year, the National Law Journal ranked GRSM in the top 25 on the Women in Law Scorecard, representing a sizable 14-spot jump from our ranking of No. 36 of 250 law firms in 2023. Additionally, the firm recently announced that 50 of its women attorneys were listed in The Best Lawyers in America© 2025, and 41 women were recognized as Best Lawyers©: Ones to Watch 2025.

Central to GRSM’s efforts to attract, retain, educate, mentor, and elevate talented women lawyers is the firm’s Women’s Initiative, which is dedicated to fostering leadership and creating opportunities for women in the legal field. The firm employs a variety of best practice programs—such as networking activities, speaking engagements, business education, and mentoring—to strengthen leadership, management, and business development skills. These initiatives are crucial for the professional growth of all lawyers and are integral to the firm’s overall success. By prioritizing these areas, GRSM supports women at the firm in seizing valuable opportunities and advancing their careers. The firm also provides practice group-specific mentorship, networking, and community opportunities, such as our Women in Construction Law group.

Meppen recently received ALM‘s prestigious 2024 Women, Influence, and Power in Law Award in the collaborative leadership category. This award recognizes outstanding lawyers who have significantly impacted the legal field through their exceptional skill, dedication, and commitment to advancing equality.
