Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani was recently featured in the Pittsburgh Business Times for its remarkable rise to become one of Pittsburgh’s top 10 largest law firms.
Since opening our Pittsburgh office in 2012 with a group of seven shareholders from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, the office has grown to 77 attorneys as of 2024. This impressive growth has been fueled by three major lateral group acquisitions: 17 attorneys from Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote in 2015, 11 attorneys and 22 support staff from Burns White’s Medicare compliance group in 2018, and 14 attorneys, including 11 from Burns White, in 2024.
The GRSM Approach
Co-Managing Partner Manoj Jegasothy attributes this success to the firm’s emphasis on personal connections and cultural alignment. “We look to people we want to join us and recruit like-minded, high-quality lawyers,” Jegasothy shared. These relationships often lead to organic discussions that evolve into opportunities.
What Sets GRSM Apart
GRSM’s unique national platform, with offices in all 50 states, continues to attract laterals seeking extensive geographic reach and robust resources to grow their practices. In Pittsburgh, this is complemented by a collaborative and inclusive culture that offers a “local family feel,” ensuring smooth transitions for new attorneys.
Robert Dapper Jr., who joined the firm with the 2024 Burns White group, highlighted the benefits of GRSM’s approach, “GRSM’s platform offers the geographic reach and practice group synergy needed to better serve our clients and grow our practices.”
Jegasothy further emphasized GRSM’s forward-looking mindset: “We’re happy where we but never stop looking to grow.” For attorneys considering their next move, GRSM provides a powerful combination of national reach, leadership opportunities, and a commitment to cultural integration.
