Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, the nation's first and only law firm with offices in all 50 states, welcomes John Rosenthal as a Partner in the firm's San Francisco office. He joins the firm's Environmental & Toxic Tort, Product & General Liability, and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He is the 192nd new attorney and 33rd new partner this year.
Mr. Rosenthal focuses his practice on complex product liability defense litigation, toxic tort litigation, environmental litigation, and general litigation matters. He represents individuals, small companies, and national corporations in all state and federal litigation stages. Mr. Rosenthal has resolved a wide range of cases as first-chair trial counsel, co-chaired several trials to defense verdicts, and prevailed on appellate briefs, including before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Serving as national coordinating counsel, Mr. Rosenthal has worked with his clients to shape national litigation strategies, managing the coordination of lawyers in jurisdictions across the country and joining trial teams in states other than California on pro hac vice admissions.
Mr. Rosenthal has represented defendants and plaintiffs in matters involving business disputes, catastrophic personal injury or death, construction defect, and intellectual property as a litigator. He advises clients on regulatory compliance, including international agreements, federal regulations, and state law. He specializes in effectively communicating the technical, scientific, and medical issues, often at the core of the defense of his clients. He has extensive experience in every aspect of complex litigation, from discovery to trial and appeal, including settlement negotiations, arbitration, mediation, and administrative hearings, and he has a strong track record for achieving favorable results for his clients.

Mr. Rosenthal is a member of the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He earned his law degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Law. He received the American Bar Association's Certificate for Excellence Award in Health Law there. He was also recognized as Debate Finalist in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California, Davis. He is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
