Partner Kimberly Howatt Appointed to San Diego Law Library Board of Trustees

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Partner Kimberly Howatt has been appointed to the San Diego Law Library Board of Trustees as its newest Attorney Trustee.

The San Diego Law Library Board of Trustees has nine members: five judges elected by their peers and four attorneys appointed by the County Board of Supervisors, each for three-year overlapping terms. The trustees have complete authority over the library’s budget for services, staffing, resources, and programs. Although the Law Library receives no tax dollars, it is supported by a small portion of court litigant filing fees. Howatt began her service at the March 2022 meeting.

Howatt is a partner at Gordon & Rees, with two decades of litigation experience. She is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group, and also works with the Intellectual Property, Franchise Law, and Creditors’ Rights practice groups. In her practice, she handles a broad scope of commercial matters, and also has developed a focus on specific areas of law that are uniquely critical to businesses, e.g., intellectual property rights, contracts, unfair competition, and bankruptcy issues. Her clients include both companies and individuals in the business, life sciences, and financial fields, as well as those in the retail, manufacturing, and design industries.

She is a volunteer for the San Diego Humane Society and S.P.C.A., and a member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego, with a position on the Fund for Justice Committee. She is also a member of Trial Attorneys of America, and has participated as a member of the Junior League of San Diego.
