Miami Partner David M. Gersten Selected as Featured Presenter for NJC Judicial Renaissance in Greece

Miami Partner David M. Gersten has been selected as the featured presenter for the graduation ceremony of the National Judicial College ("NJC") at the 2023 Judicial Renaissance on September 4-7 in Athens, Greece.

Several other impressive presenters will be speaking during this multi-day event, including Hon. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, President of the Hellenic Republic of Greece, Hon. M. Margaret McKeown, a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and Former Chair of the Code of Conduct Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States, and Hon. Robert J. Torres, Chief Justice of Guam and former member of Ethics Committee of the international governing body of soccer ("FIFA").

The Judicial Renaissance is a CLE/CJE and cultural enrichment program created to enable judges' rediscovery of the foundations of justice in Athens, Greece, known as the "Cradle of Western Civilization" and "birthplace of democracy."

In 1989, Mr. Gersten was appointed as a judge to Florida's Third District Court of Appeal, a position he retained for more than 20 years, during which he was unanimously elected to serve as the court's Chief Judge. At Gordon & Rees, he represents clients in litigation and appeals in a multitude of areas, including commercial, labor, administrative, professional liability, real estate, land use, and probate law. He strategically advises clients and helps to navigate potential evidence and procedural obstacles with both trial and post-trial implications in mind. He regularly defends insurance agents, brokers, and other professionals in malpractice claims. Additionally, Mr. Gersten often serves as a mediator and arbitrator in complex cases.
