Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Millicent Sims Meroney as a Partner in the firm’s Sacramento office. She strengthens the Employment practice, enhancing the firm’s capabilities in Northern California.
Meroney advises companies with complex personnel situations to avoid unnecessary expenses and litigation altogether or to place the company in the best possible position if litigation ensues. When necessary, she is dedicated to defending companies in all types of employment law litigation. With more than 25 years of experience, she has represented employers of all sizes across various industries, developing a particular proficiency in working with venture-backed technology companies at all stages of development.
“I joined GRSM because of its reputation, extensive employment law practice, and the great resources available,” said Meroney.
Her experience includes extensive work in litigation related to employee mobility, often including claims of misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements, as well as breach of the duty of loyalty. She has successfully prosecuted and defended TROs, preliminary injunctions, and permanent injunctions in both federal and state courts.
She is admitted to practice in California, Texas, New York, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of California. She earned her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Duke University.
