Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, the nation’s first and only full-service law firm with offices in all 50 states, welcomes Renée Fischer as a Partner in the firm’s New York City and Westchester offices. She strengthens the Banking & Finance practice group, deepening the firm’s bench in New York and Pennsylvania.
With over 24 years of experience in the fund finance space, Fischer focuses her practice on representing banks and financial institutions in subscription and NAV-based financing transactions. Her expertise extends to hedge fund structures such as fund of hedge funds, master/feeder and single-manager leverage, as well as management fee lines, secondaries financing, and hybrid transactions. She has served in various capacities, including as in-house counsel at banks and financial institutions and in private practice at law firms.
“We are thrilled to welcome Renee to the team. Her extensive experience and deep expertise in fund finance will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our firm,” shared Craig Heryford, Chair of the firm’s Business Services Section and Business Transactions Practice Group. “With her proven track record and dedication to excellence, Renee is the perfect addition to our practice, and we are excited to see the impact she will make as we continue to grow and strengthen our capabilities.”
She began her career as an associate in the Banking and Asset Finance group at a global law firm. She later spent eight years leading a legal team in fund derivatives at a major financial institution, where she built the team, streamlined legal documentation, and overhauled internal policies to enhance efficiency and reduce reliance on external counsel. This innovative approach established a reputation for seamless transaction execution.
Following the financial crisis, she held several leadership roles in legal departments across domestic and international lending, ultra-high-net-worth lending, and fund-linked products, gaining extensive experience in structured finance and product governance. She also served as a senior structurer in fund finance before transitioning to a role as global head of product governance for equities.
Fischer is admitted to practice in New York. She earned her law degree from Pace Law School and her undergraduate degree from Purchase College, graduating summa cum laude from both institutions.
