Sheldon Poole Appointed to George W. Crawford Black Bar Association Executive Board

Hartford associate Sheldon Poole has been appointed to serve as an executive board member of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association. The George W. Crawford Black Bar Association (“Crawford”) is a volunteer state-wide organization of attorneys, judges, and law students in the State of Connecticut.

Crawford represents the collective body of Black attorneys in Connecticut, including both the criminal and civil bar, public and private sector employees, across law firms, and corporate and non-profit affiliations. Poole will assist in Crawford’s mission to enhance the role and number of diverse attorneys in Connecticut. He will serve a one-year term.

Poole is an associate in the firm's Hartford office and handles a wide range of litigation matters in state and federal courts with a focus on products liability, toxic tort, premises liability, retail and hospitality law (representing hotel chains), entertainment, and employment related matters. He also handles pro bono matters representing clients in claims alleging Civil Rights violations and claims involving domestic violence.

Crawford aims to enhance the role and number of Black attorneys in Connecticut, to focus attention on legal, political and social issues which affect members of Black community, and to establish ready lines of communication with other local and national bar associations and businesses.
