Eight Gordon & Rees Williamsburg attorneys have been named among Coastal Virginia Magazine's 2023 "Top Lawyers."
Gregory S. Bean, William W. Sleeth III, Courtney H. Cox, and Shawn M. Sweaney have been recognized in the category of Civil Law Litigation. In addition, Brett C. Herbert, Michael G. Matheson, Jonathan W. Gonzalez were recognized for Commercial Litigation and Susan Childers North in the Labor and Employment category.
The firm's Williamsburg office, led by co-managing partners Sleeth and North, offers a wide breadth of legal capabilities and has grown to feature the experience of the eight attorneys selected for this recognition.
Sleeth is a trial lawyer who represents businesses and individuals in a wide array of litigation matters in state and federal court throughout Virginia and the nation, with a particular focus on estate and trust litigation, community association representation, and hospitality law.
North's practice includes counseling, mediation, arbitration and litigation of a variety of employment issues, including sexual harassment, race and sex discrimination, age discrimination and disability discrimination, wage and hour claims, as well as covenants not to compete, non-disclosure agreements, business conspiracy and trade secrets.
The selection methodology for the "Top Lawyers" is a peer-to-peer voting process where lawyers vote for up to three lawyers in several different categories. Award-winning attorneys will be featured in the "Top Lawyers" list in Coastal Virginia Magazine's January/February 2023 issue.
