Environmental & Toxic Tort
- National Coordinating Counsel for multiple industrial and chemical manufacturers.
- Served as trial counsel for equipment manufacturers, product manufacturers, and premises owners.
- Tried cases in Texas, California, Missouri, Kentucky, and Illinois.
- Successfully represented employers nationally in defending against the expansion of various state workers-compensation exclusive-remedy provisions. Hendrix v. Alcoa Inc.; Kalahar v. Alcoa Inc.
- Led a trial and appellate team that prevented expansion of liability under Arizona law for alleged take-home toxic exposure. Quiroz v. Alcoa, Inc.
Labor & Employment
- Secured summary judgment in numerous discrimination and retaliatory discharge matters.
- Secured summary judgment in case concerning validity of severance agreement.
- Represented large corporations, including retailers, health-care providers, and industrial manufacturers in employment disputes.
- Defended wage-and-hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Texas Payday Law.
- Defended discrimination, retaliation, and harassment claims under federal and state laws, including allegations of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and discrimination based on age, race, and religion.
- Represented employers in matters involving employment contracts and covenant agreements.
- Defended retaliatory discharge cases under Texas Workers' Compensation Act.
- Advised national retailer on drafting of employment handbooks, policy manuals, and contracts.
Premises and Products Liability
- Defended industrial premises owners in catastrophic-injury, construction defect, and third-party indemnity claims.
- Represented industrial and commercial equipment manufacturers in products-liability cases, including electrocution, fire, and traumatic brain-injury claims.
- Defended non-subscribing employers in civil actions for work-related injuries.
- Conducted injury investigations for employers and premises owners.
