Daniel J. DiMuro is an experienced civil litigator and a partner in the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices. Daniel has handled matters nationwide before federal and state trial and appellate courts as well as administrative agencies. He also has extensive experience representing corporate clients in mediations and arbitrations before alternative dispute resolution panels. As a member of the Commercial Litigation, Franchise, Intellectual Property, Class Action and Cyber, Privacy & Data Security practice groups, Daniel represents a diverse group of major corporations, franchisors, closely-held businesses, and individuals in multiple jurisdictions in a wide range of complex commercial disputes. He is licensed in several jurisdictions (New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania) and has obtained pro hac vice admission at the request of his clients in numerous other jurisdictions across the country. Daniel regularly assists his clients with their litigation needs nationwide by carefully crafting effective litigation strategies in order to obtain successful results.

Commercial Litigation

Daniel has considerable experience handling litigations through trial and appeal involving general commercial litigation claims, including contract disputes, counterfeit claims, prosecution and defense of copyrights, trademarks, trade dress, misappropriation of trade secrets, defamation, rights of privacy and publicity, directors and officers claims, errors and omissions claims, tortious interference claims, and premises liability claims.  Daniel also regularly defends property management companies in connection with their litigation claims.

Franchise Law

Daniel also devotes a significant portion of his practice to the representation of franchisors including litigation and enforcing franchise agreement terminations, non-competition restrictions, forum selection clauses, enforcing trademarks and liquidated damages provisions. He has also successfully obtained injunctive relief (both preliminary and permanent) enforcing franchise agreement provisions against franchisees. Daniel also has litigation experience enforcing provisions in international franchise agreements.

Class Actions/Consumer Protection Litigation

Daniel has significant experience in class action litigation and has defended claims arising under consumer protection statutes, including under the FDCPA as well as the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
