Dan Brees is a Partner in the Minneapolis Office of GRSM. He is a member of the Employment Law, Professional Liability Defense, and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Dan has extensive experience litigating a broad range of commercial issues, including contract disputes, secured transactions, statutory violations, and commercial torts. He also has a broad range of experience litigating employment claims.
- Defended a Special Litigation Committee’s exercise of its business judgment and obtained a unanimous affirmance from a three-judge panel at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and successfully opposed a petition for certiorari to U.S. Supreme Court.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of defendant in negligence action involving an aircraft accident in federal court.
- Represented Special Litigation Committee during a 21-month investigation of shareholder derivative claims and obtained dismissal of shareholder derivative claims against Fortune 500 company.
- Obtained favorable settlement on behalf of a bank in enforcing the bank’s priority rights for purchase money security interest under Uniform Commercial Code.
