Michael focuses his practice on the defense of manufacturers against products liability and other major liability claims. His experience extends to all aspects of complex products litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trial, and alternative dispute resolution. His representations have involved significant work with mechanical engineers, accident re-constructionists, biomechanics, and other technical experts. Michael’s experience includes the defense of a variety of products including vehicles, elevators, escalators, electrical equipment, chemicals, home appliances, and agricultural equipment.

He is particularly experienced in the defense of automobile and component part manufacturers. For example, Michael has defended cases involving airbags, drive line components, steering, suspension, and overall crash-worthiness claims. He has defended cases involving motorcycles and recreational vehicles. He has also applied his experience as a litigator to service the collection needs of clients in Idaho.

Prior to joining GRSM, Michael served the Idaho Administrative Office of the Courts as the Court Operations Legal Analyst in the Court Management Division. In this capacity, he was responsible for providing leadership and services in court processes and operations. He also performed analysis and education regarding legislation and regulation and its impact on the courts and justice partners.

With a seasoned approach to law and motion practice, adept at crafting persuasive arguments and delivering compelling oral presentations, Michael has navigated numerous depositions, skillfully extracting critical information from both fact and expert witnesses. From arbitration to trial, he brings a depth of experience to every stage of dispute resolution, adeptly advocating for their clients' interests with precision and determination. His track record of success includes the preparation and argumentation of multiple motions for summary judgment, resulting in dismissals or early settlements, a testament to their strategic acumen and dedication to achieving favorable outcomes.
