Robert graduated from City University of New York at Baruch College, summa cum laude. He attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate with concentrations in General Litigation and Criminal Law & Procedure. During law school, Robert interned at the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, completed Cardozo’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Program, and participated in a litigation practicum. He was also a judicial intern to the Hon. Sherry Klein Heitler, administrative judge for the First Judicial District of New York.
Following law school, Robert served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he was regarded as a dedicated public servant and leader. As a prosecutor, he successfully handled hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases from investigation through trial. Robert has indicted dozens of violent felonies, including attempted murder, robbery, bribery, burglary, assault, narcotics offenses, and firearm possession. He has also conducted numerous pre-trial hearings and tried multiple misdemeanor and felony cases to verdict.
Robert has extensive experience defending doctors and hospitals in complex, high exposure medical malpractice cases. This included conducting client and expert witness meetings, defending and cross-examining doctors at deposition, conducting plaintiff depositions, researching, drafting, and arguing dispositive motions and motions in limine, and analyzing expert disclosures. Robert’s practice involved aspects of neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, oncology, obstetrics, critical care, cardiology, radiology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and neurology.
