Thomas R. Fanizzi

Tom began his legal career as a law clerk to New Jersey Superior Court Judge Daniel D’Alessandro, J.S.C. (Ret). Upon successful completion of his clerkship, Tom began prosecuting civil claims on behalf of plaintiffs in a wide variety of personal injury and general liability matters in New Jersey state courts. Thereafter, he served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel and an Assistant Borough Chief for the New York City Law Department, where he successfully defended claims filed against the City of New York and its municipal subdivisions at all pre-trial and trial litigation phases. Prior to joining GRSM, Tom was an associate at an insurance defense firm where he defended construction managers, owners, developers, general contractors and trade contractors in personal injury, general liability and casualty claims involving Labor Law construction accidents, premises security, health care facility, elevator accidents and general premises liability.

Tom utilizes his diverse and expansive career experience to develop defense strategies to best suit his client’s needs, including early settlement, dispositive motions, mediation, or trial.
