Peter Ente is a member of the Business Transactions practice group. Peter's practice focuses on business taxation issues, including tax planning, business transactions, executive compensation, bankruptcy, troubled tax work, and tax controversies. His experience includes:
- Assisting clients on federal, state and local income tax aspects of acquisitive and divisive transactions, corporate restructurings, redemptions, distributions and transactions involving tax-exempt organizations.
- Representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service, California Franchise Tax Board and other state tax authorities in connection with audits and appeals.
- Advising corporate, pass-through and individual clients on federal and state income tax consequences of bankruptcy, bankruptcy reorganizations, debt workouts, debt restructurings and other financial transactions.
- Structuring unsecured deferred compensation arrangements compliant with IRC Section 409A.
