Brittney T. Bulawa

Associate

Brittney Bulawa is an Associate in the Denver office of GRSM. She focuses her practice on employment law, insurance defense, premises liability, and healthcare.

Brittney began her career defending the criminally accused in Colorado courts in cases ranging from juvenile misdemeanors to felony-level cases. She used this heavy in-court experience to hone her skills in cross-examination, oral argument, jury selection, and trial strategy.

At GRSM, Brittney dedicates the majority of her practice to the Employment Law Practice Group providing both legal defense and counseling to employers ranging from local nonprofits to multi-national corporations. Her expertise includes handling employment discrimination, retaliation, and hostile work environment claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1981, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Equal Pay Act, as well as under Colorado state law, including Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA) and the Colorado Wage Act.

Brittney additionally provides counseling to her clients on employment-related matters such as reductions in force, FMLA and FAMLI leave, and engaging in the interactive process under the ADA. Brittney takes pride in her reliable, quick communication when clients are in need of assistance, and maintains a reputation for her direct and clear communications to those unfamiliar with the legal system.

Outside of the employment realm, Brittney frequently works with clients on sensitive matters related to sexual misconduct in healthcare facilities or facilities with juveniles as she is uniquely positioned to understand the Civil/Criminal overlap and cooperate with law enforcement when needed.

Brittney grew up in Parker, Colorado, where her family still resides. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, fly fishing, snowboarding, and keeping up to date with Denver’s food scene.
