Courtney Nichol is a partner in the Chicago office of GRSM. Her practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage and cyber security matters. Courtney regularly counsels and represents clients on insurance coverage issues, with an emphasis on fidelity bond, cyber and commercial crime policy claims. She also has extensive experience representing insurers across the nation in all aspects of complex litigation involving coverage disputes, product liability, defective technology, data breaches, cybercrime and commercial contract disputes.
Prior to joining GRSM, Courtney worked for a large, regional law firm in Michigan where she represented organizations in complex litigation surrounding product liability, automotive supply and commercial contract disputes.
Courtney earned her J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School, where she was the Senior Articles Editor of the Wayne State Law Review and a Senior Member of Moot Court, winning the Best Appellate Advocacy Team Award in 2013. During law school, Courtney served as a judicial intern to the Hon. Avern Cohn in the United States District Court Eastern District of Michigan. Courtney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science from the University of Michigan.
