Emily A. Miller is Senior Counsel in the Chicago office of GRSM. Her practice focuses primarily on insurance coverage and cyber security & data privacy matters. Emily regularly provides counsel to clients on issues relating to the recovery of losses caused by data breaches, system failures, and other cybercrime related events. In this capacity, she represents insurers in complex civil litigation actions in the pursuit of post data breach recovery. Further, Emily provides advice to clients on insurance claims arising from data breaches and cyberattacks with a strong understanding of proper security measures and remediation efforts.
Prior to joining GRSM, Emily was an associate attorney at a Chicago-based defense litigation firm specializing in medical malpractice and professional negligence. Emily has experience of litigation in both state and federal courts.
Emily earned her J.D., cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the DePaul Business & Commercial Law Journal as well as the President of the Women’s Bar Association, DePaul Chapter. During her time at DePaul University College of Law, Emily was the recipient of six CALI awards (including Negotiations and European Business Law) and she obtained a Certificate in International & Comparative Law. Prior to attending law school, Emily received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Southern Methodist University with minor degrees in French and Human Rights.
