Biography

Ernie D. Mejia is an Associate in the San Francisco office of GRSM and is a member of the Healthcare practice group. Ernie’s healthcare practice runs the gambit of issues that healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities may face. He has defended claims ranging from allegations of elder/dependent adult abuse and neglect, wrongful death, financial fraud, premises liability, violation of patient rights, catastrophic injury, and medical malpractice. His civil trial practice focuses on the defense of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare and long-term care professionals and organizations. Ernie routinely deals with aggressive opposing counsels on high-exposure and complex multi-party claims. Through his team's expert negotiation, clients are able to seek an often early and favorable resolution.

Ernie is admitted to both state and federal courts in California and has experience in taking matters from inception through mediation, arbitration, and trial. Prior to joining GRSM, he represented clients in employment matters, providing both litigation support as well as general advice and counsel to business owners and human resources professionals for companies of all sizes throughout the state.

Ernie received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco, School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
