Gregory T. Hanson

Senior Counsel

Gregory Hanson is a Senior Counsel in the Construction practice group.  He represents developers, general contractors and sub-contractors in construction claims and defect litigation.  Gregory also has experience with land use matters and contract close-out disputes, as well as general insurance defense litigation.

Gregory’s experience includes conducting high-end settlement negotiations, arbitrations, and appearing for clients at various court hearings.  He has taken innumerable depositions, including PMK/COR’s of major corporations.  Gregory has prepared and defended clients in over 60 depositions. 

Prior to entering private practice, Gregory worked in the construction industry for sixteen years.  He served as a Managing Foreman for construction companies in Hawaii and California where he managed all aspects of building multi-million dollar custom homes, including oversight of project crews and deadlines.  He also served as Assistant Project Manager for a construction services company in California where he advised the management team on materials and price negotiations, managed commercial projects within budget and on deadline, and initiated and implemented a pre-job then weekly trouble-shooting system.  Gregory began his career as a carpenter where he specialized in building luxury custom homes.

Representative Experience

Examples of Gregory's experience includes the following.

  • Complete defense verdict in $600,000 arbitration claim
  • Settled a $23 million suit against a general contractor client for $9 million with minimal client contribution
