Matthew Taylor is a Partner in the Philadelphia office of GRSM, concentrating his practice on complex commercial and civil litigation with a focus on employment law. He counsels clients in cases pending across the country, and regularly handles all aspects of litigation in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Matthew represents employers in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies, in a broad spectrum of employment-related matters including claims involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, as well as many other federal and state employment discrimination laws. He also counsels clients on a broad range of employment and labor law matters helping them to comply with federal, state and local laws.
Additionally, he has prosecuted and defended numerous trade secret and restrictive covenant actions in state and federal court. These cases concern covenants not to compete, non-solicitation agreements, unfair competition, and other related torts.
Prior to joining GRSM, Matthew worked for a large regional law firm in Princeton, New Jersey where he gained first-chair jury trial experience in federal court. He also served as a judicial law clerk with the Honorable Raymond A. Batten (ret.) in the New Jersey Superior Court. During law school, he served as an Associate Editor for the Widener Law Review and interned with the trial unit of the Burlington County Prosecutors Office in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Matthew also served as a judicial extern with the Honorable Joel Schneider, U.S.M.J. in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey and completed a yearlong externship with the Honorable Virginia A. Long (ret.) on the New Jersey Supreme Court in Trenton, New Jersey.
