James H. Mokhtarzadeh is an Associate in the Walnut Creek office of GRSM and is a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group, where he has been practicing since 2020. James focuses on the defense of large, multi-party environmental matters, including mass tort and products liability litigation involving alleged toxic injury arising from asbestos and talc, representing a wide range of clients in all stages of stages of litigation, including through trial. Prior to joining GRSM in Walnut Creek, James practiced business litigation in Sacramento, representing clients ranging from national banks, public utilities, railroads, state agencies, and local businesses though which developed experience in recognizing and understanding the individual and complex issues facing of these entities.
James received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 2017. While studying Washington D.C., James clerked for various federal agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, where he was accepted into the Clinical Legal Education Honors Program for the Office of Enforcement of and Compliance Assurance, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Energy. Through these clerkships, James developed a wide range skills and knowledge of related to various environmental statutes such as NEPA, CERCLA, and RCRA as well as enforcement actions and the procedures thereof.
