James (“Jim”) Saxton is Senior Counsel in the Charleston office of GRSM and member of the Construction and Cannabis, Hemp & CBD practice groups. His practice focuses on complex construction litigation representing developers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and suppliers in residential and commercial construction disputes.
James obtained an undergraduate degree from the A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration at Duquesne University with a focus in marketing and a legal studies minor. During this time, he received Dean’s List recognition for multiple semesters. Thereafter, he received his Juris Doctor at the Charleston School of Law, where he was on the Dean’s List for several semesters in addition to being recognized for providing over 100 hours of pro bono service during his legal studies.
Prior to joining GRSM, James worked with several boutique law firms in Charleston litigating a wide variety of cases in both civil and criminal law, with a specialization in insurance defense and complex construction litigation. His number one priority is to understand his clients’ unique needs and to exceed their expectations. He is a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, Charleston County Bar Association, and Make-A-Wish Foundation Committee with the Young Lawyer’s Division of the South Carolina Bar Association.
