Peter Schwartz is the managing partner of the Los Angeles office and is the chair of the Southern California Insurance practice group. He specializes in insurance coverage advice and related litigation. Peter also has extensive commercial, employment, class action, professional liability, and franchise litigation experience. His insurance coverage experience focuses on primary and excess commercial and personal lines insurance, and coverage litigation including “bad faith” actions and evaluating and litigating errors and omissions, advertising injury and environmental coverage issues.

Peter has argued before the California Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and has litigated matters in state and federal courts throughout California and other jurisdictions.

• Advertising Injury: Represents insurers in evaluating coverage, liability,damages and settlement of intellectual property claims including patent infringement, trademark, trade secret misappropriation,trade libel, and other claims tendered under advertising injury coverage.


• Environmental Claims: Advises and represents insurers in litigation involving environmental claims, including indoor air quality and mold.


• Error & Omissions: Defends professionals in E&O claim litigation.


• Commercial Disputes: Litigates commercial disputes involving allegations of misappropriation of technical and commercial trade secret and related unfair competition claims, as well as trademark infringement, misappropriation of service mark, misappropriation of customer lists, and customer and employee solicitation.
