Biography

Rebecca Spira is an Associate in the GRSM Portland office.  Rebecca’s practice includes environmental/toxic tort, commercial, general liability insurance, products liability, and employment litigation. 

Rebecca graduated cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was an associate for the Chicago-Kent Law Review, member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and judicial extern for Judge John Robert Blakey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  During law school, Rebecca received the CALI award in each of the following courses: Torts; Civil Procedure; Evidence; Law, Literature, and Feminism.  Rebecca also served as president of Chicago-Kent’s immigration law society and helped organize and lead a service trip to Dilley, Texas to prepare asylum seekers for credible fear interviews. 

After law school, Rebecca worked as an immigration attorney for the Capitol Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (CAIR) in Washington D.C., where she represented detained non-citizens in removal proceedings before the immigration court and Board of Immigration Appeals.  Prior to joining the firm, Rebecca was a judicial law clerk for Magistrate Judges Carolyn K. Delaney and Kendall J. Newman at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
