René M. Pickett is a Partner in the Boston office of GRSM. René represents clients in all areas of the firm’s practice, including claims involving insurance coverage, toxic torts, premises liability, and products liability. She has extensive litigation and courtroom experience defending claims in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
René is a graduate of Providence College (cum laude) and Suffolk University Law School, where she acted as a mentor for the National Women’s Law Student Organization and a member of both the Jessup International Law Moot Court and National Health Law Moot Court teams. Following law school, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael A. Silverstein on the Rhode Island Superior Court Business Calendar before entering private practice.
In 2018, René was part of a multi-firm team that secured a complete defense verdict following a two-week trial in MA Superior Court. The case involved allegedly defective products from an international corporation. The plaintiff’s initial demand to the jury was for more than $10 Million in damages.
Prior to joining GRSM, René practiced at a national law firm where she specialized in defending product liability and toxic torts claims.
