Biography

Tara E. Lynch is a Partner in the Manchester, New Hampshire and Boston, Massachusetts offices of GRSM. She handles a wide range of claims in state and federal courts, including matters related to professional liability defense, business-to-business disputes, product and premises liability claims, employment matters, construction defect claims, and title disputes. Tara has extensive experience representing all types of clients, from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses to individuals.

Tara has tried cases to juries and judges in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. Tara has successfully defended clients across industries at trial, including for claims of professional negligence, bad faith business practices, breach of contract claims, and business torts, saving her clients millions of dollars. In 2019, she secured a jury verdict that was recognized by Law.com and the Connecticut Law Tribune as the largest consumer protection verdict of the year in New England. 

A former appellate clerk of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, she also represents clients at the appellate level, including before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals, Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Tara is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, a nomination-only professional trade association of vetted defense and corporate counsel. She has also been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2014.

Professional Liability Defense

Tara has extensive experience representing licensed professionals, including architects, engineers, real estate agents and brokers, accountants, lawyers, insurance agents, and physical and mental health professionals, in both litigation and administrative actions. She has a proven track record of success representing her clients in license inquiries and actions before the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Licensure, the Massachusetts Board of Building Regulations and Standards, the New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure, and the New Hampshire Attorney Discipline Office.

Commercial, General Liability, and Product Litigation

Tara represents businesses in all manner of disputes, including defending business-to-business claims, breach of contract disputes, business torts, and the enforcement of confidentiality and non-solicitation clauses. She also has broad-based experience defending products and general liability matters, including high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death matters. Tara has substantial experience in the defense (and prosecution) of consumer protection act claims including Massachusetts chapter 93A claims and New Hampshire Consumer Protection Act claims. Her clients span multiple industries, including the financial, technology, human resources, real estate, construction, hospitality, retail, and healthcare industries.

Construction

Tara regularly represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in litigation and pre-claim matters on projects ranging from multi-million dollar commercial projects to residential homes. She has experience in defending a variety of construction design and defect claims, including claims related to civil and structural engineering, building envelope defects, mechanical defects, and ADA compliance, In addition to litigation matters, she assists her construction clients with reviewing and revising construction contracts, obtaining and perfect mechanic’s liens, and collections.

Employment Law

Tara represents management-side interests in litigation in state and federal courts and before agencies including the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also helps her clients negotiate employment and severance agreements, drafts and revise employee handbooks, and regularly advises her clients regarding employment law developments and trends in order manage risk and maximize results.
