Las Vegas managing partner Scott Cook and San Francisco partner Don Willenburg's 2009 appellate victory before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in an employment discrimination case was profiled in the March 3, 2010 issue of The Voice, the weekly newsletter from the Defense Research Institute. Scott and Don successfully convinced the appellate court that the employer had a non-discriminatory purpose for the termination, and that none of the former employee's contentions constituted evidence of a discriminatory purpose sufficient to defeat summary judgment.
