Gordon & Rees continues to expand its Las Vegas office with the addition of Partner Robert Schumacher. Mr. Schumacher is a member of the Construction and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the areas of insurance coverage and defense, general liability, construction, and commercial litigation.
Mr. Schumacher has extensive trial experience and has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict, including high-profile litigation matters involving the VA Hospital, Turnberry Towers, Aladdin Hotel & Casino, the Bellagio, the Venetian Hotel & Casino, the Flamingo Hotel & Casino, and the Grand Canyon Skywalk. He was also involved as lead counsel in numerous general liability, business and construction cases relating to the 1994 Northridge Earthquake insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Schumacher has extensive experience dealing with OCIP and CCIP ("wrap policy") issues.
Mr. Schumacher received his J.D. from Southern University School of Law in 1991. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1987. Mr. Schumacher is admitted to practice in Nevada and California. He was nominated by his peers as a Colleague of the Nevada Law Foundation, an organization that provides legal services to disadvantaged Nevadans. Mr. Schumacher serves on the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board and the Diversity Committee for the Nevada State Bar Association and is a member of the Clark County, Los Angeles and American Bar Associations.
