The national law firm of Gordon & Rees continues to expand its San Francisco office with the addition of Associate Sara Reese. Ms. Reese is a member of the Employment Group, focusing on labor and employment law, workplace investigations, litigation strategy, dispute resolution, and employee training. She has held in-house litigation counsel positions at Macy's Inc., E&J Gallow Winery, and Southern California Edison Company.
Ms. Reese has extensive experience managing employment litigation, including multiple wage-and-hour class actions, as well as representing clients in proceedings before the EEOC, DFEH and other government agencies. She assists clients with the defense of suits involving sexual and racial harassment, racial and gender-based discrimination, ADA violations, FMLA violations, and other statutory and common law claims. Ms. Reese has designed and conducted training on litigation prevention, harassment and discrimination, and how to conduct investigations. She regularly drafts policies, procedures, compliance manuals, releases and other employee communications.
Ms. Reese received her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California in Berkeley and her B.A. with highest honors from the University of California at Davis. She was a visiting student at Yale Law School and also served as Law Clerk for the U.S. District Judge, the Honorable Warren E. Eginton, in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
