A. Louis Dorny, an experienced trial attorney, has joined the Los Angeles office as Senior Counsel. He is a member of the Commercial Litigation Group. Mr. Dorny has tried matters to verdict in both state and federal courts throughout California and Arizona, on matters ranging from trade secret misappropriation to fraudulent elections, and insurance bad faith to employee benefits.
Mr. Dorny has been recognized as a Rising Star® by Law & Politics in Professional Liability Defense, Employee Benefits/ERISA, and Intellectual Property Litigation in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable William McLafferty in Santa Barbara Superior Court.
He earned his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law, where he was a recipient of the Dean and Virgina Rusk Fellowship Fund. Additionally, he studied the European Union legal framework at Institut d'Etudes Europeenes, Universite Libre de Bruxelles, and the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Brussels. He received a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah.
