San Francisco Insurance Group partner Matthew Foy has been selected to serve as Chair of DRI's annual Insurance Coverage and Practice Symposium, which will take place December 15-16 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York City. Mr. Foy is a member of DRI's Steering Committee and served as Vice Chair of the 2010 ICPS. On December 15, Seattle partner Donald Verfurth will be a co-panelist on the topic of "Elf in the Room: Ethical Conundrums." Mr. Verfurth and his co-panelists will provide an in-depth analysis of the ethical issues that frequently arise for the insurer and defense counsel. The presentation will also include best practice guidance related to handling obligations to the paying carrier, mediator and opposing counsel candor during mediation, and the ethics of defense counsel serving as the insured's coverage counsel.
